1. ) intransitive or transitive to work hard and for a long time doing something that is difficult or boring:
Most of the night was spent slogging away at the report.

2. ) intransitive or transitive slog up/through/along etc. to make a long and tiring trip somewhere, especially by walking:
The soldiers were slogging through the mud.
3. ) transitive to hit someone very hard, especially in boxing
